Moon Palace Casino, Golf & Spa Resort
In order to keep clients informed about the progress of this resort, Palace Resorts has provided the following info on the facilities that will be available at the time of the opening: 12 outdoor pools, 3 kids pools with water toys & toboggan, 4 swim up bars, sunbathing area, kids club, 6 restaurants (Tao, Spaggo, Los Gallos, Lucca, Marina Grill, and Samba) , all snack bars and bars with the exception of the casino bar, the sports bar and and the bar at the night club. Gift shops, boutiques, spa boutique, jewelry stores, deli shops, and flower shops will also be open.
The golf course is expected to have 9 holes ready by June and the back 9 by September. The spa facilities are scheduled to be ready by January 31st. Facilities such as the tennis courts, fitness center and Xtreme Center should be available by last week of February. The Casino is slated to open by the end of March.

Palace Resorts
Palace Resorts continues incorporating features to its all inclusive program. Guests staying at all Palace Resorts properties in Mexico can now make unlimited phone calls when calling within Mexico, to the Continental US and Canada. Now, it is easier than ever to stay in touch with family and friends. This new exciting feature will be also available for guests staying at the Moon Palace Casino, Golf & Spa Resort in the Dominican Republic. From Punta Cana, the unlimited phone calls will be within the Dominican Republic (Bavaro and Santo Domingo) and to the Continental US.
As a result of the voting process for the Readers' Choice Awards organized by Recommend magazine, Palace Resorts was selected Best Resort/Hotel Chain - Latin America - Mexico.
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort
As of November, the Paintball field will be relocated at the Adventours Park facilities, located a few minutes from the resort.
Guests staying at the golf villas will now have access to golf carts for their own personal use, which allows more freedom of movement within the boundaries of the resort's grounds.
Vallarta Palace & Playacar Palace
In an effort to continue promoting the protection of the ecological wealth that surrounds this property, associates of this resort, along with their families, cleaned up Punta Negra beach collecting more than 400 pounds of waste.
The environmental committee in Playacar Palace also organized the cleaning of Shangri-Lá beach with the participation of associates from different areas and departments of the resort.

Aventura Spa Palace
In an effort to continue providing our clients with more options in the Riviera Maya, Palace Resorts is announcing the division of the Aventura Spa Palace facilities into two resorts, effective April 2009. The north section will remain as adults only and will retain the Aventura Spa Palace name while the south section will welcome families. The name of the new resort has yet to be determined.
Guests staying at Aventura Spa Palace will be able to access and make use of all the facilities at both resorts; however, children won’t be allowed at the adults’ only resort.
We are confident these changes will benefit Palace Resorts guests and we will make everything possible for a smooth transition. We will keep you informed about this new exciting addition as more details become available.

Golden Apple Awards
Beach Palace, Cancun Palace, Sun Palace, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, Aventura Spa Palace, Cozumel Palace, and Vallarta Palace received this award for the year 2008.
Aventura Spa Palace
This resort has achieved the Travelife Golf Supplier level in sustainable tourism after an audit commissioned by Thomas Group of the United Kingdom. It also achieved the Travelife silver and bronze levels. By reaching these levels, the resort has shown its efforts in helping the community, using cutting edge practices in environmental practices and treating people in a fair and respectful way.
Palace Resorts
Palace Resorts has been nominated and is finalist for the 2008 Readers' Choice Award given by Travel Weekly for Best Chain All Inclusive and Best Hotel Chain in Mexico. The winner will be announced on December 16 in a gala dinner at the Astoria Hotel in New York City.
Xpu-Ha Palace
Mexico's protection environmental agency issued the Certificado de Calidad Ambiental (certificate for environmental quality in tourism) to Xpu-Ha Palace after satisfactorily passing the inspection process performed by the agency.

A section of the kiddie pool has been renovated.

On September 29, the fifth chapter of the Travel Agent Academy on-line course was launched. The chapter content focuses on adults, couples and families.

2008 Crystal Apple Award
Apple Vacations has distinguished Palace Resorts with the 2008 Crystal Apple Award for "Best Hotel Chain". The high marks came after more than 300,000 questionnaires were completed by Apple vacationers at their return from their vacations. They rated the overall staff and service, food quality, amenities, public areas, beach and entertainment.
2008 Orbitz Best in Stay Hotel for Couples in Mexico
Cozumel Palace and Sun Palace were chosen as Best in Stay Hotel for Couples in Mexico. The winners were selected based on the overall numeric score they received from Orbitz travelers. In a scale of 1 to 5 they rated amenities, maintenance, hotel staff, room comfort, location and value.

The terrace located by the lobby bar now features lounge beds and tables where guests can enjoy their favorite drinks. At night the mood of the place becomes romantic due to its candlelight setting environment.
Teens will now have the option of going dancing at the teens' disco on Wednesdays and Saturdays located at the Kids/Teens Club.
